How do you capture the heart of school? You tell one story at a time, over and over again.

You listen. You read. You invite everyone to share their memories with you.

You capture 40 years worth of love for a school little by little.

You start by reading "Inventing a School," the book written by our founder Dr. Jane Kern.

You find photo albums and newspaper clippings buried in dusty closets.

You get your tools together:

Film scanner - Check
Slide scanner - Check
Photo scanner - Check

You convert everything to digital and then move it to cloud storage.

But how do you really capture stories from photos that include people you've never met?

You send a net back through the years and ask for help. You call the women and men who built this school and ask them to tell you everything they can. You read their annual reports, their unfinished manuscripts, their Friday letters.

During this 40-year celebration, it is my mission to capture as many stories as I can.

I appreciate the people who have come in and sat down with photo albums so that I can make notes. Your stories make the photos and memories come to life.

If you have Seacrest memories, I ask you to reach out to me and share them.

Call or email me, or stop by. Send me photos with notes. Send me videos. Record yourself telling a story and send it over. I'll take it all.

Thank you to everyone who has made Seacrest such a fantastic community and a wonderful place for children to spend their childhoods.

You matter.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Seacrest Country Day has never been able to say it has a Winged Foot Scholar-Athlete Award winner.

That changed Monday night.

The Stingrays’ four-sport star Carole Ann Hussey was named the 2023 winner during a banquet at Naples Grande Beach Resort, beating out seniors from 12 other Collier County high schools for the 34th annual award.

"Look at the competition," Hussey said. "These are no ordinary seniors in high school, I was reading and listening as they were walking up on stage and I was thinking to myself... Read More or Watch Video
